Eric Bogle
The annual Woodford Folk Festival has gone from strength to strength over the past 27 years, with its eclectic mix of amazing music, fascinating talks and street theatre – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Heading the contingent this year was our iconic Eric Bogle, still one of the most perceptive and moving songwriters on the Australian music scene. With an Order of Australia and a Peace Medal from the United Nations to his credit, Bogle is both an extraordinary wordsmith and a captivating performer.

In some exciting news for the Bogle faithful, Eric recently had this to say to the crew at Rouseabout Records… “I hope you all had a good New Year, I did my usual trick, drank too much malt whisky then fell over.......I go into the studio at the end of this month to record a new CD, I'll send you the mixes when it's ready, probably around mid- February if all goes to plan! I hope 2013 is good to us all....”
With a new album from the maestro in the works it sounds as though it will be! In the meantime listen to ‘Flying Away’ from Eric’s most recent studio album The Dreamer in this month’s edition of Undercover Radio.
