Gary Shearston

Renegade features Lee Williams on bass (& guitars) and making his recording debut Luke Shearston on drums, with able contributions also from Roger Ilott, Penny Davies & Jordan Davies-Ilott. The album was mixed by Jorden Brebach (The Church, You Am I, Grinspoon, Dappled Cities, gB3) and mastered by William Bowden.

Lee, Luke & Roger will accompany Gary on stage where they will unleash The Great Australian Groove which Gary has long been working towards.

The father of Australian folk is far from finished yet!

Eric Bogle

Rouseabout Records is pleased to announce the digital release of A Few Old Songs For Very New Times which features 32 songs from Bogle's back catalogue not contained on Singing The Spirit Home (also available digitally through iTunes) hand picked by Eric himself.

Eric Bogle's songs are as relevant today as when they were written and this compilation is a must have for any Bogle fan.

Speaking of relevance, 'Someone Else's Problem' from The Dreamer (RRR47) which Eric wrote about the predicament surrounding the Murray-Darling, as a resident of SA who lives next to the Murray River, something he is very passionate about is a song for the moment. Have a listen on this month's edition of UCM Radio.

Eric & partner in crime John Munro have just returned from their tour of New Zealand and play two shows next month at Celtica 2010.

Eric has also been confirmed as a headliner at the 45th National Folk Festival being held during the Easter long weekend in April 2011. For more details, check out www.folkfestival.asn.au.

Mic Conway’s National Junk Band

A strange thing has occurred... something which many never believed possible ... Mic Conway fans were able to hear and see a great plethora of songs from the Matchbox era such as ‘My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes’, ‘That Cat is High’, ‘Smoke Dreams’, ‘Half a Moon’, ‘Hernando's Hideaway’, ‘Nagasaki’, ‘Sophisticated Mama’ and more, performed live (and sweaty) in the here and now.

A hot 8-piece band has been built around Mic and Jim, consisting mainly of musicians from their own current bands. Together they will be presenting songs, silliness and satire from the repertoire of their legendary band - the Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band.

First installment of The Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band SHOW was at The Cat n Fiddle Hotel in Balmain on Saturday November 6th. They also did a song or two on Richard Glover's 702 ABC Sydney show on Thursday 4 November.
